Do I need travel insurance if I have a credit card?

Many people think they don't need travel insurance if they have a credit card, because the credit card provides them with enough coverage. However, this is not always the case. While some credit cards offer travel insurance, coverage is often limited. For example, many policies only cover emergency medical expenses, do not cover companions and provide no assistance in the event of lost or stolen luggage. Also, most credit cards only cover trips of a certain duration and only if the entire trip was paid for by the credit card. Therefore, it is important to be well informed and read the fine print of your credit card agreement before assuming you are fully covered.
