Is it worth taking out travel insurance?

Many people are reluctant to purchase travel insurance, believing it to be an unnecessary expense. However, the truth is that travel insurance is useful, especially if you are planning a trip overseas. Travel insurance can protect you against various risks such as medical emergencies, lost luggage and/or cancellations. Depending on the type of assistance contract you have taken out, you can also insure your vehicle during a trip to Europe against any breakdown problem. Finally, travel insurance also covers other beneficiaries included in the same insurance contract. Travel insurance therefore gives you peace of mind, knowing that you will be covered in the event of an unexpected problem. No one likes to think about getting hurt or sick while on vacation, but these things can unfortunately happen. If so, travel insurance can help you with medical expenses incurred while travelling. In some cases, it can even cover repatriation costs. Be aware that your health insurance does not intervene in all cases for all companions and in all destinations. So, before you book your next trip, don't forget to cover yourself well by taking out the travel insurance that's right for you.
