What is travel insurance?

Travel insurance is an insurance contract that covers you in the event of illness or accident that may occur during your trip. Travel insurance comes in several forms. Apart from the basic cover which covers your unexpected medical expenses or covers any medical repatriation, the insurance also covers your luggage in the event of loss or theft or reimburses your trip in the event of cancellation, or cover your vehicle in the event of a breakdown or accident.
