Do I have to take out travel insurance for an Erasmus?

If you are going on Erasmus, you may be wondering if you need travel insurance. It is usually a long trip that can expose you to high medical bills or repatriation costs if something goes wrong. Europ Assistance offers a comprehensive long-term travel assistance contract that covers up to 750,000 euros in medical expenses in Europe (1,250,000 euros in the rest of the world) and provides repatriation in the event of an emergency. This assistance contract can cover a trip of max. 364 consecutive days and also includes ski assistance and an early return guarantee in case you have to return home for an urgent family reason.
